Page Inspector privacy policy
Effective 22 September 2026. Contact: Manuel Madeddu.
Rendered Eventually | Page Inspector compares a page's freshly fetched source HTML with its browser-rendered DOM to help you investigate rendering, indexing and on-page SEO differences. It operates inside your Chrome browser. It does not connect to a developer-operated server or send analytics or telemetry.
Information the extension uses
When you open the side panel, it reads the active tab's URL and title to identify the page. An inspection reads the page's HTML, DOM content, links, images, metadata and structured data. It makes a fresh browser request to the inspected URL and may request the same website's robots.txt, sitemap, a breadcrumb category and canonical destination. These requests go directly from your browser to that website. If you have previously allowed site access, opening the side panel may start an inspection automatically; otherwise click Inspect page to grant access and inspect.
Website content and URLs may contain personal or sensitive information. Inspect only pages you are permitted to audit. The extension does not intentionally read cookies or browser history, but a fresh request to a page on which you are signed in may be authenticated by your browser, and its content may be included in local results and exports.
Storage and exports
Chrome's local extension storage holds comparison baselines for up to 30 inspected URLs and up to five recent detailed report snapshots. Those snapshots can contain page text and portions of source HTML or rendered DOM. They remain in the Chrome profile until replaced or the extension's local data is cleared. The extension can create JSON, CSV and Word reports on your device when you choose to export; you control any later sharing of those files.
When you turn on “Show changed elements on page,” the extension adds temporary labelled outlines to matching visible elements on that tab. Turn off the switch or reload the page to remove them. This does not send page contents to us.
Sharing and choices
No website contents, page URLs or reports are sent to us, advertising networks or analytics providers. The owner of an inspected website receives the browser requests described above. To stop analysis, close the side panel or do not inspect the page. You can revoke a granted site's access in Chrome's extension settings, remove locally stored data through Chrome's extension storage controls, or uninstall the extension. Delete exported files separately from your device.
Limited use
Information accessed by the extension is used only to deliver its user-facing page inspection and local reports. Use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The extension does not sell information, use it for targeted advertising, or allow developer access to your local reports.
